NORFOLK, Va. — Walashek Industrial & Marine Inc. will invest an estimated $5 million in its Norfolk operations and add about 40 jobs over the next three years.

The family-owned maritime boiler repair and maintenance firm, founded in 1986, is undertaking the largest expansion of its Norfolk headquarters since its founding. It will expand boiler support capacity and bring LCAC hovercraft maintenance and modernization work to Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek–Fort Story, extending an existing program in San Diego. The growth is partly driven by a multiyear LHD boiler support contract that the Naval Sea Systems Command awarded in February 2026. The state is providing $120,000 through the Virginia Jobs Investment Program for recruitment and training. Gov. Abigail Spanberger announced the project Oct. 9.
