LIBERTY, Mo. — Wagner Logistics will expand into two leased warehouses in the Liberty area totaling more than 830,000 square feet, creating 79 new jobs, the Missouri Department of Economic Development announced Oct. 14.

The third-party logistics provider, in business since 1946, will handle warehouse operations, distribution and transportation management between an unnamed Kansas City-area manufacturer's plant and its warehouses. The company plans to invest in equipment, infrastructure and technology, including an automated system that can unload a 53-foot trailer in under two minutes, and to run the operation 24/7 once it is fully up. The state did not disclose a dollar figure for the investment. Wagner will use the Missouri Works Program, which offers withholdings or tax credits for job creation, subject to verification of program requirements. No incentive amount was released.
