OAKWOOD, Ga. — VDL Groep will invest an estimated $77 million over several years to buy and expand the building its subsidiary, VDL Industries Gainesville, now leases at 5459 Aloha Way in Oakwood. The project adds about 120 jobs to a site that employs about 70.

The plant does sheet metal fabrication, welding, machining and cleanroom integration. The expansion adds large-scale milling and a bigger cleanroom for semiconductor equipment. Hiring starts this quarter, and construction is expected to finish in 2028. Gov. Brian Kemp announced the project Oct. 13.
