MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. — Vantive will invest $100 million to expand its operations in Mountain Home and plans to create up to 175 new jobs over the next four years, starting with 75 in the first year, according to an Oct. 27 release from the Arkansas Economic Development Commission.
The money will pay for a new tubing line, new sterilizers, new compressors, a new chemistry lab and other projects at a plant the company describes as a key manufacturing site for components of home dialysis therapies. Chief executive Chris Toth said the investment builds on the company's "longstanding partnership with this community." Vantive has approximately 800 employees in Mountain Home.
What this means
Location Decision analysis: This is a second round of spending at a plant the company has already been building up, not a new site decision. The release says the $100 million adds to $100 million in earlier investments completed in 2025. The equipment list points to more production and sterilization capacity at the existing plant, which is our reading; the release doesn't state a capacity figure.
If all 175 jobs arrive, the site grows by about 22% from approximately 800 employees. The state's subhead says "create 175 jobs," but the text says "up to 175," so the larger number is a ceiling. The first-year figure of 75 is the nearer test, at about 43% of that ceiling. The $100 million works out to at least about $571,000 of capital per job, a figure that rises if fewer jobs are created. The release quotes Dr. Dani Autrey of the North Central Arkansas Economic Alliance in support but names no training partner, so how the plant will fill those positions is an open question.
What to watch
Announced jobs are not hires. The first marker is whether Vantive reaches 75 in the first year, and the release doesn't say when that year starts. It also gives no completion date for the equipment and states no incentive. It doesn't tie a job count to the earlier $100 million, so the two rounds can't be compared on hiring.
