HUNTINGDON, Pa. — Superior Huntingdon Composites will invest $4.4 million to expand its facility at 1200 Susquehanna Avenue, reactivating a third production line idled since 2012, Gov. Josh Shapiro announced Oct. 28. The project will create 26 new jobs over the next three years and retain 74 existing full-time positions.
The company makes continuous filament mat and veil fiberglass products used in composites manufacturing for defense, power and energy, building materials, transportation, infrastructure and marine markets. It received a funding proposal from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development for a $1,687,757 Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority loan and a $200,000 Pennsylvania First grant. The state said it is investing more than $1.8 million in the project. The governor's BusinessPA team coordinated the work.
