GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — Lockheed Martin is investing $300 million to expand its Grand Prairie manufacturing facility to more than 735,000 square feet, the company announced Oct. 14.
The expansion adds 100,000 square feet of new space and turns 85,000 square feet of office space into advanced manufacturing. The plant supports the company's Missiles and Fire Control programs, including PAC-3 MSE, THAAD and PrSM, and nearly 800 production employees work there now. A 24-machine automated cell run by Hadrian is expected to be operational in early 2027. Lockheed said it plans to create 6,000 jobs across the U.S., including 2,000 in Texas, but did not say how many will be in Grand Prairie. The release does not mention state or local incentives. The investment is part of the company's commitment to invest $8 billion to $9 billion through 2030 to scale munitions production.
