WEST POINT, Ga. — Hyundai Transys will invest nearly $560 million to expand its manufacturing operations in West Point, creating 320 new jobs, Gov. Brian Kemp announced Oct. 8.

The project upgrades plants one and two at 6801 Kia Parkway in Troup County and adds a third plant, adding production capacity for electrified powertrains for hybrid vehicles. The company will hire for administrative, supervisory and production roles. The site already supports roughly 1,250 jobs, according to the release, and West Point Mayor Steve Tramell said the project retains more than 1,200 of them. The Georgia Department of Economic Development's Global Commerce team worked on the project with the City of West Point, Georgia Quick Start and Georgia Power. The release gives no construction timeline or incentive amounts.
