CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. — Hewlett Packard Enterprise will invest $75 million over five years to expand testing, warehousing and manufacturing at its Chippewa Falls site, adding capacity for AI and high-performance computing technology.

The project is expected to create 75 jobs at a location that employs nearly 500 people. HPE took over the site when it bought Cray Inc. in 2019. The Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. is authorizing up to $5.1 million in performance-based Enterprise Zone tax credits, on top of an $8 million agreement from 2021. Under that earlier deal, HPE invested more than $25.9 million and created 120 jobs. Gov. Tony Evers announced the expansion Oct. 15.
