NEW YORK — Grow Therapy will create 123 new full-time jobs, invest $9.9 million in research and development and spend an additional $15 million building out a new office of more than 78,000 square feet at 145 Delancey Street on the Lower East Side, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Nov. 4.
Grow Therapy is a mental health platform that delivers in-person and online therapy and psychiatric care. The release gives no company explanation of why it chose this building. Hochul credits New York's "talent and innovation economy." Empire State Development is supporting the project with up to $1.4 million in performance-based Excelsior Jobs Program tax credits.
What this means
Location Decision analysis: A year ago, Grow's New York story was a smaller one. Its November 2025 announcement covered a lease of approximately 19,000 square feet at 100 Broadway, $16 million in research and development and at least 186 new jobs over five years. The Delancey Street office is about four times that space. A company that adds 123 jobs to a 186-job plan and more than quadruples its square footage in 12 months appears to be planning for a larger head count than either announcement states. That is our inference, and the release does not say how many people the office is built to hold.
The state's combined figures are 309 new jobs, 94 retained jobs and $40.9 million ($16 million + $9.9 million + $15 million). Only the $15 million is real estate. The rest is research and development spending, so the total should not be read as building investment. The two tax credit awards have a combined ceiling of $3.2 million ($1.8 million + $1.4 million), or about $10,356 per new job if all 309 are created. Excelsior credits are performance-based, so that ceiling is not a payment.
What to watch
The 2025 release gave five years for its 186 jobs. Watch for a hiring period on the 123 and for an opening date at 145 Delancey, along with what happens to the 100 Broadway space, which took effect Dec. 1, 2025. The 2025 release also counted more than 100 existing New York roles, while the new total retains 94. The state doesn't reconcile the two.
