TAMPA, Fla. — FORGE, a Tampa Bay coalition led by Speros and Moffitt Cancer Center, has won a $47.3 million U.S. Economic Development Administration grant to build a radiopharmaceutical hub, the coalition announced Oct. 29. With matching funds from partners, the five-project portfolio totals approximately $88.2 million. The grant is federal money, not company spending.

The largest pieces are $16.9 million for Moffitt to build the core and shell of a 130,000-square-foot radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facility at Speros, its 775-acre Pasco County campus, and $15 million for a 120,000-square-foot office and wet lab building there. The rest funds an Embarc Collective startup incubator and training programs at the University of South Florida and Pasco-Hernando State College. The coalition projects FORGE-enabled growth will support approximately 4,000 regional jobs at full operation, including 1,100 direct jobs at Speros.
