McKEESPORT, Pa. — CP Industries will invest $21.7 million to build a 25,000-square-foot facility at its McKeesport site, creating 78 jobs over five years and keeping 115 existing positions.
The company, part of EKC International and based in the Mon Valley since 1897, makes large seamless pressure vessels used to store and move pressurized gases, including hydrogen and renewable natural gas, along with products for space applications. New equipment is expected to more than triple composite cylinder production and raise steel cylinder capacity by 50%. Pennsylvania offered more than $3.9 million, including a $3.06 million Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority loan, an $805,000 Pennsylvania First grant and a $115,800 WEDnetPA training grant. The state says Alabama and Michigan also competed for the project. Gov. Josh Shapiro announced it Oct. 8.
