MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Corvid Technologies will invest $95 million to expand its Mooresville campus and build an additional advanced manufacturing facility, adding 423 jobs in Iredell County.
The employee-owned defense contractor, founded in 2004 as a small modeling and simulation firm, now specializes in digital engineering, modeling and simulation, and precision manufacturing. The project includes a 400,000-square-foot facility at its headquarters for engineering and manufacturing vehicle launch systems. New jobs, including assemblers, electricians, engineers and technicians, will average $81,550 a year, above the county average of $64,895. A state Job Development Investment Grant could reimburse the company up to $4,449,750 over 12 years, paid only after the state verifies it met its job and investment targets. Gov. Josh Stein announced the project Oct. 13.
