CLAREMONT, N.C. — Box Equities has bought a 395,990-square-foot industrial facility at 2555 Penny Road in Claremont for $22.1 million, seller Maguire Hayden Real Estate announced Oct. 22. The building is fully leased to CertainTeed, a wholly owned subsidiary of building materials maker Saint-Gobain.

The facility supports CertainTeed's adjacent vinyl siding manufacturing operation, providing storage, handling and outbound logistics capacity. It sits on about 17.9 acres in Catawba County, less than two miles from Interstate 40, and was built in 1986 and renovated in 2011. Maguire Hayden acquired the property in a sale-leaseback and later signed CertainTeed to the full-building lease. The release does not say when the lease was signed. JLL represented Maguire Hayden in the sale. The release does not describe new jobs or new investment at the site.
