HUTTO, Texas — Blue Origin plans a $554.78 million capital investment in Constellation Park, a new advanced manufacturing and operations campus in Hutto, Gov. Greg Abbott announced Oct. 8. The company says the 1.3-million-square-foot, multi-facility complex will add over 2,000 new manufacturing and related jobs over the next 10 years.
The campus will build hardware for Blue Origin's TeraWave satellite communications network and its Quartz ground network, along with satellite subsystems such as solar arrays, avionics and telecommunications equipment. Blue Origin says it already has more than 550 employees in Texas. The state is offering an $18.17 million Texas Enterprise Fund grant, a performance-based incentive, plus a $10,000 Veteran Created Job Bonus. Those are public dollars, not company spending. Hutto Mayor Mike Snyder said the project makes the city an anchor point on the Highway 79 tech corridor.
