FORT VALLEY, Ga. — Blue Bird Corp. plans to invest an estimated $300 million in a new manufacturing facility in Fort Valley, creating 375 new jobs over the next three years, Gov. Brian Kemp announced Oct. 21.
The school bus maker will convert a former manufacturing site for diesel-powered motorhomes at 401 Wanderlodge Way into a 1-million-square-foot plant building Type C school buses in diesel, gasoline, propane and electric models. Construction is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2027. Blue Bird, which already has a footprint in Peach County, says it supports more than 1,900 employees in Georgia. The Georgia Department of Economic Development worked on the project with the Development Authority of Peach County and Georgia Quick Start. The release does not list incentive amounts.
