PERRY, Ga. — Audi AG plans to invest approximately $4 billion in its first U.S. manufacturing plant, at the Middle Georgia Megasite in Peach County, creating approximately 4,500 new jobs, Gov. Brian Kemp and Audi CEO Gernot Döllner announced Oct. 24.
The plant will build premium SUVs for North American customers, with capacity of approximately 200,000 units a year. Grading is set to begin in 2027 and construction in 2028, with full production in 2031, according to the state; Audi's own release says production is planned to start in the early 2030s. The company cited speed to market, workforce, access to consumers and proximity to an established automotive supply chain. The Georgia Department of Economic Development worked on the project with the Development Authority of Peach County and the Mid-Georgia Gateway Joint Development Authority, and Georgia Quick Start will design a dedicated training facility. The release does not list incentive amounts.
