Town of Clayton, North Carolina — Economic Development Director

One of North Carolina's fast-growing communities is hiring. Clayton's next economic development director will lead efforts to retain and grow jobs, attract investment and expand the tax base.

City of Athens, Texas — Economic Development Director

Athens is looking for a director to oversee its economic development operation and work with the Athens Economic Development Corporation board and City Council on business recruitment, retention and expansion. The role touches manufacturing, retail, transportation and longer-term economic strategy.

Mitch Frazier takes the wheel at IEDC

Mitch Frazier officially starts today, Oct. 5, as president of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. Gov. Mike Braun announced the appointment last month. Frazier succeeds Josh Richardson and will work alongside Indiana Secretary of Commerce Chuck Goodrich on investment attraction, business growth and partnerships with communities around the state.

Jennifer Lindley takes over economic development in Gilbert

Gilbert, Arizona, has selected Jennifer Lindley as its next economic development director. Lindley takes the helm of economic development in the fast-growing Phoenix-area community, with business attraction, retention and redevelopment among the priorities.

Emily Knight named Boston's economic development chief

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu has tapped Emily Knight as the city's next chief of economic opportunity and inclusion. Knight comes from The Engine, the MIT-founded organization focused on tough-tech companies, where she served as president and CEO. She is scheduled to begin Oct. 19.

Appleton airport expansion earns Wisconsin honors

Appleton International Airport's terminal expansion and renovation has been named a 2026 Community and Economic Development Award winner by the Wisconsin Economic Development Association. The project expanded airport capacity while supporting continued business and economic growth in northeast Wisconsin.

Schneider Electric honored in El Paso

The Borderplex Alliance named Schneider Electric the 2026 recipient of its Woody L. Hunt Excellence in Economic Development Award, recognizing the company's manufacturing and workforce investment in the El Paso region.
